ENCINITAS, Calif. — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department responded Tuesday to a robbery that occurred at a Chevron gas station and convenience store in the Encinitas community of Cardiff-by-the-Sea.
According to the Sheriff Department Watch Commander’s office, the incident was reported shortly before 5 a.m. at the Chevron, 805 Birmingham Drive. A suspect entered the store brandishing a pocket knife, demanding cash and cigarettes. He then left the store in a vehicle with an unspecified amount of cash and the cigarettes, authorities said.
Authorities said there were no injuries and added that the suspect was described as Hispanic, but no other description of him or the vehicle was available. Detectives will investigate the incident, according to the sheriff’s department.
