The heat warning is in effect from 10am to 6pm. Wednesday for the county’s coastal areas and valleys, including Encinitas, according to the NWS.
High temperatures of up to 96 degrees are expected, with warmer temperatures predicted for inland coastal areas and western valleys, according to the NWS. In Encinitas, the high is expected to hit 83 degrees on Wednesday.

“Hot temperatures can cause heat sickness,” the NWS warned.
Meteorologists recommend that people drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
