Arresting Crazy Search In Encinitas | Encinitas, CA Patch

ENCINITAS, CA – A suspected burglar was arrested this week after being spotted lurking in a yard in the Cardiff suburb of Encinitas, authorities said.

A woman called 911 shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and reported seeing a man walk through a side fence and into his backyard in the 2100 block of Oxford Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

When deputies arrived, they saw a van leaving the scene. The driver was speeding and ran stop signs, according to the sheriff’s department. Deputies pulled over the driver, identified as Darren Amador, 51, in the 600 block of Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of poaching.

Authorities believe Amador, who they say is linked to surveillance video, may be linked to other incidents in Cardiff in recent months.
