A San Diego-area mom accused her local school board of being “activist groomers and pimps” after inviting the community to a “queer” Halloween party with a “family-friendly” drag queen show.
The Encinitas Union School District removed a flyer promoting the Oct. outside Tuesday’s meeting as mother Brittany Mayer lashed out at authorities.
Saturday’s block party scheduled for San Diego’s LGBT stronghold in the Hillcrest neighborhood bills itself as “the weirdest free Halloween party for kids and families,” and is sponsored by Align Surgical Associates, a center for reassignment surgery. San Francisco genre, and Rich’s Nightclub, a popular gay nightclub.
The daring party was not hosted or endorsed by the public school district, but was included in Peachjar, an “optional information center that contains community events and opportunities for families in the district,” education officials told KGTV.
Mayer posted a clip of his fierce diatribe at the board meeting.
“I just want to know what makes a drag show familiar?” Mayer sarcastically asked the board, showing footage she posted of her violent rant.
“What is it with a grown man dressed in a sparkly bra with enlarged breasts showing and wearing a miniskirt barely covering his ass with duck tape in front while spreading his legs with fishing net while squirming on the floor grinding his crotch? next to a smaller, familiar one?” she demanded before demanding an apology.
“While we have a culture with a big problem with child pornography and child sex trafficking, you, a small council of adults in the school district, made the decision to host an event to hypersexualize your children,” Mayer raged.

“You all played the activist pimp for the Align surgical center and a 21-plus-year-old gay bar,” she insisted. “That makes you activist groomers and pimps and we won’t have those sitting on a school board that oversees our children’s education.”
The issue – which was not on the council’s agenda – would have spurred a group of parents to hire a lawyer to determine how the event intertwined with the district in the first place.
Carrie Prejean Boller, a conservative activist who ripped the two children she shares with former pro Kyle Boller quarterback out of the district over her mask tenure last year, joined the protest.
“Our message is very clear. We don’t want strip shows, we don’t want drag shows, and definitely not…inviting parents and kids in our district,” she reportedly said.
Attempts by the former Miss California USA winner — stripped of her title after speaking out against gay marriage at Donald Trump’s 2009 Miss USA pageant — to come to terms with the pageant were thwarted by her appearance in a porn film. “extremely graphic”, according to TMZ.
Justin Ried, a school board candidate who has children in the district, walked a fine line in describing his position.
“We certainly want to be an inclusive community and support groups of all kinds, but the question is where do we draw the line?” he would have said. “At what point we thought about it, maybe drag shows shouldn’t be promoted to our kindergarten until 6th family is something that would be suitable for a 5-10 year old, maybe not. We should know how these decisions are being made.”
Meanwhile, San Diego County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer approved the event and said she will bring her 3-year-old son.
“Parents in my school district (Encinitas Union) protesting the Halloween Drag Show should be ashamed of themselves for pushing hate and bigotry on all of us,” the Democrat tweeted Wednesday.
“This kind of bigotry has no place in our community,” she wrote.
Despite opposition in the small beach town 40 kilometers north of San Diego, the show will continue as scheduled, organizers said.
