Absentee voting underway in 2021 local elections in Eddy County

Absentee voting for the 2021 local elections started Oct. 5, according to Eddy County Clerk Darlene Rosprim.

She said absentee voting continued until Oct. 15 at the Eddy County Clerk’s Office at 325 South Main Street in Carlsbad and at the Eddy County Sub-Office at 602 South First Street in Artesia.

Rosprim said absentee voters may cast ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Carlsbad and Artesia and early voting starts Oct. 16 and concludes Oct. 30.

Voting is underway for the 2021 local elections in Carlsbad and Artesia.

Early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday’s from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in both Carlsbad and Artesia.

Rosprim said Oct. 5 was the last day residents could register to vote via a paper application.

“Same day registration will continue through Oct. 30,” she said.
