The Encinitas City Council met in closed session Wednesday to discuss the litigation. In open session, the council heard a report on public safety. The council approved agreements and permits for the San Diego County, CA Project (formerly the Coastal Storm Damage Reduction Project) and allocated funds for the initial phase of beach sand monitoring and installation. The council also adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism.
The Oceanside City Council met in closed session Wednesday to discuss property negotiations. In open session, the council approved adding an assistant police chief, a police lieutenant and a police sergeant, in addition to funding up to $805,313 for salaries and benefits. The positions will be paid for by converting vacant officer positions.
The Bonsall Unified School District board met on December 14 and swore in its newly elected members. Pascal Lapoirie was sworn in as the first member of the Area A board of trustees. Trustee Larissa Anderson was elected chair of the board and trustee Michael Gaddis was elected secretary of the board. Lou Riddle, a retiring board member, was recognized for his 20 years of service to the district. The board met in closed session to discuss personnel, labor negotiations, and litigation. In open session, the board approved an agreement with Cal State San Marcos for a college preparatory program and guaranteed admission. The board also approved its first interim budget report.
The Cardiff School District board held a special meeting Monday to make nominations to the California School Boards Association assembly of delegates. Trustees Rhea Stewart and Shad Thielman were nominated.
The Del Mar Union School District board met Dec. 14 to swear in members and elect officers. Trustee Gee Wah Mok was elected president and Katherine Fitzpatrick was elected secretary of the board. A closed session followed to discuss labor negotiations and litigation. In open session, the board held a public hearing on opening proposals for contract negotiations with the Del Mar California Teachers Association. The board also approved its first interim budget report.
