Carlsbad – Rocky J. “Lil Roc” Armendarez, 11, of Primrose Street, passed away July 20, 2021 at Covenant Children’s Hospital, Lubbock, Texas.

Visitation will be 2 PM – 5 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A vigil is scheduled for 6:30 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lil Roc was born May 6, 2010 to Rocky and Breanna M. (Ramirez) Armendarez. He finished the 4th grade at Cottonwood Elementary. Lil Roc loved the outdoors. He never turned down the opportunity to go to the river and play X-Box. Lil Roc loved riding the jet ski, side by side, and often went cruising with his uncle in his low rider. He also enjoyed country and Spanish music. Lil Roc helped his grandmother in the yard and always kept her bushes trimmed. He will be remembered for always helping others. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Danny R. Ramirez.

Survivors are his parents: Rocky and Breanna Armendarez; siblings: Annalis Lujan, Malaki Armendarez and Libby Armendarez; grandmother, Veronica Morales; grandmother, Olivia Armendarez; grandfather, Roy Armendarez; great-grandmother, Paula “Nano” Olivo; aunts: Kathy Armendarez, Monique Ramirez, Vanessa “Tia Mue” Munoz; uncles: David Ramirez, Roy Armendarez, Jr. and numerous cousins and extended family.

Pallbearers will be David Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Mario Ramirez, Danny Ramirez, Jr., Jacob Ramirez, Mario Coggin, Ignacio Olivo, Jr. and Michael Ramirez. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
