Joseph Frank Duran

Carlsbad – Joseph Frank Duran aka Frankie Duran, 61 of Carlsbad NM passed away on Tuesday, 6/22/21. Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Oasis Christian Fellowship in Carlsbad, New Mexico with Interment following at Loving Cemetery. Reception will be held after interment at River of Life Church in Carlsbad, NM.

Frankie was born on March 19, 1960 to Maria Teresa Duran. Frankie was a fun kid and loved baseball landing pitcher positions in teams he played on. Frankie loved Jesus, his family, music, motorcycles, and his ever beloved Raiders to whom he was a loyal fan to the very end. It was always about the Silver and Black and Raider Nation!

Frankie was a great man with a big caring heart. He had his season of sowing wild oats in his teens and early adult years however in March of 1990, at the age of 30, he gave his life to the Lord at his mom’s house and everything changed. Frankie was then baptized and became a member of Oasis Christian Fellowship. Those who had known Frankie prior to him coming to Jesus were amazed to see the transformation. Frankie loved the Lord with all of his heart and was always ready to share the gospel of salvation and Jesus’s love with whomever was willing to listen. He truly knew no barriers. His zeal and love for the Lord was infectious.

Frankie was a giver and was always ready to take the shirt off his back to help someone in need, especially his family. Frankie had a great personality, a peculiar sense of humor and enjoyed joking and making those around him laugh.

It was on the mission field in Mexico that Frankie met the love of his life Carmen Bejarano. He came back from the mission field focused on conquering her heart and managed to do so. They later married and became parents to three sons. Frankie and his family were members of River of Life Church in Carlsbad, NM.

Frankie is survived by his wife: Carmen Bejarano Duran, Sons – Josiah, David, and Elijah Duran of Carlsbad, NM. Two brothers – Tommy and Edward Duran both of Carlsbad, and two sisters – Pearl Duran and Patsy Aguirre of Midland Texas. He also leaves behind many Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends whom he dearly loved. Tanner Murillo was extremely special to Frankie and he often spoke of him as a brother.

Frankie is preceded in death by his Mother – Maria Teresa Duran, Grandparents – Jose & Cecelia Duran, Brother- Danny Duran, Nephew – Danny Lee Duran, Uncles – Manuel Duran and Joe Doporto, Aunts – Delia and Lorenza Duran.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Home Hospice Midland and a special thank you to Amanda Copeland, RN who did an amazing job.
